Sustainability
At Pallinc, our commitment to building a sustainable business stems from our core business values.
We take into account all environmental factors when making any business decisions with the aim of growing a business which is both beneficial to the planet as well as the people who work within it and live in the communities it services. Our innovative, sustainable solutions form a key part of our belief in a genuine circular economy. From ensuring we source timber from the correct sources, to tracking and maximising all vehicle movements and operating a zero-to-landfill policy across our facilities, everything we do is guided by our sustainability journey. You can read more about this below:

Brand new pillarless 4.8m Lawrence David trailers designed to maximise the number of pallets per load, fitted with wind deflectors to reduce drag and increase fuel efficiency, driven by Euro 6 Mercedes Actros mirrorless cabs, a modern design feature which reduces average fuel consumption by 2mpg.

New software system in place for electric POD and stock management system across the site to reduce paper usage.

LED Lights fitted internally and externally across the whole site, reducing electrical consumption and wasteful bulb disposal.

Increased waste segregation on site. We have dedicated bins across the site for general, recycling, wood, metal and food waste, promoting our zero-to-landfill principles.

Zero waste to landfill – no waste that is produced during the production of our pallets ends up in landfill. All waste is re-used or recycled.

Untha Wood Shredder installed to allow for waste wood from repair process to be shredded on site and resold to biomass and animal bedding industries. Watch our video below!
The Untha Wood-Shredder
We have invested heavily in a state-of-the-art Untha Wood Shredder, through which we shred pallets that are at the end of their useful life, plus offcuts from our repair process. During the shredded process nails are removed via an overband magnet, which then deposits them into a nail skip. All the metal produced from the process is then sent off for recycling. Our shredded produces approximately 250 tonnes of woodchip per month, which is resold for animal bedding or energy recovery.
